Tokyo: hot and sweaty
But this summer, these circumstances will be very different. The riders won't be racing on our cobblestones but on the hot tarmac of Tokyo. So, forget about rain and fog. Heat and sweat will take over and form the main barrier for the Olympic competitors.
The circumstances in the capital of Japan are set to be the most demanding in Olympic history. With temperatures above 30 °C and a high humidity level, these Japanese conditions will no doubt affect the core temperature of our athletes. When their body temperature exceeds 39,5 °C, a drop in energy level is inevitable.
Analysis: Graphene technology
That's why we introduce you to the world of Graphene technology. The ideal innovation to beat those extreme hot conditions! Where previous technologies could only focus on heavy pre-race cooling, our new Graphene technology provides a gradual cooling effect while racing!
This innovative game-changing technology is the key factor of our body-cooling race apparel. Thanks to its highly conductive nature, the graphene pulls away the heat from the rider’s body and helps to dissipate it faster. Using the air flows to gradually cool the graphene, the rider's speed plays a crucial role.
For the record, this cooling technology won't directly make our riders faster. It will help them deal with the extremely hot and humid conditions by regulating their core temperature. This way, our Belgian, Dutch and German riders can fully focus on racing their way to cycling history without losing precious energy caused by heatstroke.
